To save it, get the door object using $entity_list->GetDoorByID(id), as it returns an entity ID (and preliminary DBID/DoorID is stored on the object itself) upon creation of the door. otherwise the door is temporary, and does not save the stored DBID. $doorobj->CreateDatabaseEntry() saves it and its temporary DBID + DoorID.
